COMPANY OVERVIEW
The NHHEAF Network Organizations are comprised of three active 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies - New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF),Granite State Management & Resources (GSM&R)and New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) - which provide outstanding college access programs for New Hampshire students, families and schools. GSM&R, through NHHELCO, was awarded a contract for the servicing of federal student loans owned by the U.S. Department of Education in April 2012. The contract leverages GSM&R''s operating infrastructure and its unwavering commitment to support borrowers toward successful student loan repayment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Process changes to borrower studentloan(s) status as it pertains to current enrollment status, payments, deferments, forbearance, graduation dates, changes of address, etc.
Process borrower requests for change of repayment schedule, and apply appropriate forbearance time, re-disclose and verify status to ensure accurate processing occurred. Ensure borrower communication is documented as needed. Change monthly payment amounts as required to maintain compliance with minimum payment requirements.
Maintain a current, working knowledge of all NHHEAF Network products and service offerings, including loan products and web applications. Effectively communicate these products and services to borrowers, as needed.
Process requests for deferments and forbearance within Federal regulations and internal policy guidelines.
Open and sort customer correspondence as necessary. Retrieve and index documents from the document imaging system and storage facilities.
Perform research and follow-up as necessary on routine inquiries received from borrowers.
Ensure that borrower history is maintained currently and accurately onallsystems.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
REQUISITE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
High school education or the equivalent AND 1 to3 years experience in customer service, financial data entry, and general office administration.
Ability to analyze forms, reports and data each dayand accurately performa high volume of data entryinto various computersystems.
Ability to passa federal security clearance.
Basic training in customer service and administrative skills capable of dealing with routine situations, problems, or complaints, and able to operate within a normal level of supervision.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills required.
Must have a high level of accuracy and be detail oriented.
Ability to apply learned business skills such as general office procedures, basic math, basic bookkeeping and data entry as well as PC literacy and computer software knowledge with an emphasis on spreadsheet applications.
Ability to apply visual, comprehension, strong interpersonal, effective listening, problem solving, organization, analytical and customer relations skills in the performance of all essential job functions.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and follow verbal and written instructions required.
Ability to sit for long periods of time and use repetitive motion of upper extremities in order to perform essential job functions.
