COMPANY OVERVIEW
The NHHEAF Network Organizations are comprised of three active 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies - New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation (NHHEAF), Granite State Management & Resources (GSM&R) and New Hampshire Higher Education Loan Corporation (NHHELCO) - which provide outstanding college access programs for New Hampshire students, families and schools. GSM&R, through NHHELCO, was awarded a contract for the servicing of federal student loans owned by the U.S. Department of Education in April 2012. The contract leverages GSM&R''s operating infrastructure and its unwavering commitment to support borrowers toward successful student loan repayment.
JOB FUNCTION
Provides accurate and timely financial reporting to Senior Management and Executives, to assist in compiling various high level departmental and corporate statistics and projections. Ensures that the Department of Education Quarterly form is filed in a timely and accurate fashion. Participates in testing and review of loan servicing system to ensure accurate financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
o Responsible for Borrower and Loan Services Department (BLS) financial reporting as required including: a) Preparation and reconciliation of the daily reconciliation of loan activity. b) Prepare month end reports. c) Prepare customized month end reports to lenders and create new customized reports as requested. d) Compile all required detail to complete the quarterly report. Validate all totals and Special Allowance codes to ensure accuracy by performing many various audit checks within specified timeframe. e) Compile report of all quarterly approved figures for analysis report.
o Select a sample of accounts to examine and verify.
o Validate totals between bonds. Process bond transfers.
o Reconciliation of accounts currently assigned to collection agencies.
o Create customized reports with specific search criteria through a Query program.
o Monitor accounts assigned to collection agencies. Request closeout of accounts. Prepare backup information for loans being transferred. Assist collection agencies in any settlement offers.
o Create and monitor for updates Manual of Procedures for all processes.
o Prepare daily/monthly reconciliation reporting for imaging and indexing.
REQUISITE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Associates Degree Preferred in Business or Accounting and 1 to 3 years of experience is required in financial reconciliation and reporting preferably in a financial services environment.
A comprehensive working knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications is required. Experience with MS Office (specifically: Excel, Word, and Access) is required.o Solid analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are essential.
o A basic working knowledge of general accounting procedures is also highly desirable.
o Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with or without the use of interpretive devices.
o Ability to use general office equipment such as computer, phone, fax, copier, calculator, etc., with or without reasonable accommodation.
o Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time in order to perform essential job functions.
